Iguana Surf Shop was established in 1989 in Tamarindo Costa Rica. It quickly moved into a once famous location in Tamarindo known as the Iguana Surf Rancho, a beautiful 4-story rancho with all natural woods and native carvings. In March of 2009 a brush fire in the back of Tamarindo ignited the rancho and the whole building was lost along with a local restaurant and two shops.
Iguana Surf was survived by its two sister locations. One location is directly on the beach in Tamarindo, in front of the most popular surf spot in town. The other is in the largest All-inclusive Hotel in Town, The Barcelo Hotel. The shop on the beach offers all our tours, merchandise, rentals, surf lessons, and tourist information. The location at the Barcelo is more for tour reservations and equipment rental.
Iguana Surf has an excellent reputation of serving Tamarindo and the surrounding beaches for over 20 years. Not only do we offer a great selection of surf boards (August, Yater, Bear, Channin, Haut, T&C, McCoy, and softops) but, we offer over 30 tours in and around the area.
